The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has filed a lawsuit against an entrepreneur who allegedly defrauded investors out of millions of dollars in a cryptocurrency investment scheme.
The SEC alleges that the entrepreneur, Michael Terpin, falsely claimed that he had developed a new cryptocurrency that would be backed by gold.
