Ranveer Singh Starrer Rohit Shetty Film Cirkus Struggles In Advance Bookings, Comparison Between Cirkus, Bhediya And Avatar 2 On Friday, 23rd December!
Directed by Rohit Shetty, Cirkus stars Ranveer Singh, Pooja Hegde, Jaqueline Fernandez, Varun Sharma, Johnny Lever, Sanjay Mishra and others. It includes a circus operator and his gymnast friends hailing from a huge circus company ‘juggle’ with their lives and attempt to bring back the extinct circus culture to the public. It will hit the big screen on December 23, 2022.
Avatar was first released in 2009 directed by James Caneron. The sci-fi/action movie stars Sam Worthinhton (Jake Sully), Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) and others. Its sequel released in India on December 16th, 2022 starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang from the first film, and new faces like Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh.
Both films cater to audiences with different genres accordingly as one is Bollywood and another is Hollywood. Avatar could become the biggest film across the globe, considering it had the re-release of the first part with an incredible amount of footfall. The budget of Avatar 2 is reportedly nearly 350 million dollars.
Below are the comparison between Cirkus and Bhediya for National Chains:
Advance tickets sold for Friday by Wednesday 1030am
Circkus/Bhediya
PVR 5072/3742
Cinepolis 1724/1315
Total: 6796/5057
Circkus is approx +35% of Bhediya advance in national chains but behind in comparison to Bhool Bhullaiya 2 and bigger films.
Avatar 2 will impact Cirkus especially in metros and high end multiplexes as film will be second choice forthis audience and it will heavily depend on masses to score. Seems like an interesting scenario for boxoffice followers but rather scary one for team Cirkus.
And that is what happened as Cirkus has taken below par start in advance bookings all over. Film is almost 1/4th of Avatar in terms of advances over the weekend.
