Vishal has 8 films and also 5 web series in the pipeline. Those are already in various stages of production or writing. He recently produced Taapsee’s Blurr. The latest news is that he won’t be remaking the action film ”The Transporter’
“The Transporter has been a very successful franchise. We are not remaking it. We are moving forward with the franchise. So, The Transporter will become a local film,” Bollywood Hungama quoted Vishal Rana as saying. Stepping into Statham’s shoes is no mean feat.
While Bollywood has its fair share of action heroes, Vishal has a few names in mind for the role. “Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff and Kartik Aaryan are on my wish-list to play the lead role, as they are great in action. After the script and director are finalised, we will start approaching actors,” he said.
“No it’ll not be. Certain quirks and traits will be taken from the original. Otherwise, it’ll be different and an Indian protagonist will take the franchise forward. The story will be entirely different,” said Vishal on asking again whether it won’t be a remake.
Meanwhile, Vishal is preparing for another film which will be directed by Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 (2022) director Anees Bazmee. He said, “That also will be a film which you would have never expected from Anees Bazmee! It’s an action comedy but in a novel space. When we signed him on, I asked him to give me his most unique script.”
