With the release of Pathaan’s teaser, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have made their fans excited. While the teaser received positive response, the song ‘Besharam Rang’ ran into a controversy after a section of Hindu community raised objections to Deepika’s saffron costume.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh and Chandigarh are likely to ban the movie in the state. Days after the Home Minister of MP Narottam Mishra slammed the song, now the assembly speaker of the same state Girish Gautam has challenged film’s lead actor Shah Rukh Khan to watch the film with his daughter Suhana Khan and post the picture on social media. Girish also said, “I dare you to make a film on the Prophet in the name of freedom. There will be riots in the entire world.”

Amidst these protests against the film, veteran actress Ratna Pathak Shah has extended her support and said, “people don’t have food on their plates but can be outraged about clothes someone else is wearing.”

Talking with Kutch Express, the actress said, “I would say we are living in very silly times if these are the things that are on top of your mind. It isn’t something that I would like to talk about very much or give much credence to.”

“But I am hoping that there are many more sensible people in India than are visible at the moment. They will come through, because what is happening, this sense of fear, sense of exclusion is not sustainable. I feel humans cannot sustain hate beyond a point. There is an uprising, but then you get exhausted with hate. I am waiting for that day to come,” she added.
