Hasleen Kaur, 34, is known for being the first runner up at the Pantaloons Femina Miss India and representing India at the Miss Earth 2011 beauty pageant on December 3, 2011. She is also famous for the 2009 film Love Aaj Kal & her show CAT released on Netflix recently.
The latest bollywood news is that Hasleen spoke on inclusiveness in the film industry. She stated that OTT has become a boom for roles and characters’ diversification. “The audience wants to see real people today, not someone you would aspire to be. This is exactly how the entertainment and fashion industry should be. People should be able to relate with characters. Nobody is now interested in a fantasy world with perfect bodies and skin tones,” Business Today quoted Hasleen as saying.
She further went on to say the fashion industry is transforming and bridging the colour, gender and body limitations. “The fashion industry is opening up the ramp for models of all shapes and sizes. There is no gender disparity. The market is open for models of all genders. A lot of gender fluid brands have come in,” added Hasleen.
She said there are roles now in a more realistic than earlier way, further saying, “The quintessence part where an actress had to look a certain way no longer exists.”
