Avatar was first released in 2009 directed by James Caneron. The sci-fi/action movie stars Sam Worthinhton (Jake Sully), Zoe Saldana (Neytiri) and others. Its sequel released in India on December 16th, 2022 starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Stephen Lang from the first film, and new faces like Kate Winslet and Michelle Yeoh.

Both films cater to audiences with different genres accordingly as one is Bollywood and another is Hollywood. Avatar could become the biggest film across the globe, considering it had the re-release of the first part with an incredible amount of footfall. The budget of Avatar 2 is reportedly nearly 350 million dollars.

In first four days itself, Avatar The Way Of The Water has crossed 175 cr gross in India with 147 cr nett and set to cross 185 cr nett week with 220 cr plus-gross. If film stabilises on weekdays around 15 cr nett daily number then it is bound to collect 15 cr nett 2nd Friday if not more. This means 55-60 cr nett 2nd weekend.

This will impact Cirkus especially in metros and high end multiplexes as film will be second choice forthis audience and it will heavily depend on masses to score. Seems like an interesting scenario for boxoffice followers but rather scary one for team Cirkus.

And that is what happened as Cirkus has taken below par start in advance bookings all over. Film is almost 1/4th of Avatar in terms of advances over the weekend.

Weekend – 8593

Rohit Shetty enjoys indisputable record at box officefor last 15 years and he will not want that to be disturbed with Avatar threat.

Ranveer Singh is coming back after major disappointment of Jayeshbhai Jordaar so he also needs a hit badly. Overall very interesting weekend is ahead.
