After Varun Accepted Bhediya’s Underwhelming Response, Now Jaideep Ahlawat Reacts On ‘An Action Hero’s Poor Box Office Collection!
Jaideep Ahlawat has left an indelible mark with his performances on OTT this year with the sequence Bloody Brothers, The Broken News and the anthology Tryst With Destiny.
During a recent interaction with a media outlet, Jaideep opened up about the box office collection of his recent film An Action Hero, also featuring Ayushmann Khurrana in lead role. Although the film didn’t work out well at the box office regardless of optimistic critiques from critics and followers. The actor insisted that he doesn’t want the burden of expectations to affect his performances as it received positive reviews from critics and fans.
Jaideep explained, “I mean surely, after a film’s failure there is some introspection about what might have gone wrong about the film? It’s getting almost unanimously positive reviews, but people aren’t going to the theaters to watch it. It’s slightly disheartening, and it’s not a feeling anyone likes to soak in. It’s the hard work of so many people, so it’s obviously not a nice feeling. But no, I don’t become anxious about it.”
He added, “It’s a smart film, it is fast-paced, it has humor, it has action. Anyone who has seen it has only said nice things to me about the film, so it can get a little confusing when people at large don’t come to watch the film. But it’s okay.”
In the film, Ayushmann Khurrana stars as a movie star Manaav on the run after an accidental killing, with Jaideep taking on the role of the dead man’s brother Bhoora.
On the work front, Jaideep will be seen next in Sujoy Ghosh’s The Devotion of Suspect X with Kareena Kapoor and Vijay Varma.
Interestingly earlier last week, even Varun Dhawan humbly accepted below par response of Bhediya at box office. 2022 remained a mix bag where acclaimed films like Bhediya and An Action Hero failed at box office but maaya sequels like Bhool Bhullaiya 2 and Drishyam 2 turned out to be blockbuster.
